I had the good fortune to take a tour of Cherry Hill Farms to learn more about their upcoming Harvest Tours that they will be offering to the public. I was there for an event hosted by 2C Women Connect. They will be offering tours and cherry picking to the public July 8 - 11.
Cherry Hill Farms is a 5 generation farm located on Chicken Dinner Road in Caldwell. It is a family owned and operated farm. In addition to cherries, they also grow apples, peaches, and apricots. While the farm has been producing fruit for the markets for years, this year they have decided to open their orchards to the local public for picking and tours.
We took a tractor ride through the orchards, learned a bit about the orchard history, and then we picked cherries and apricots.
We also got to see how the cherries were harvested. They grow Montmorency Cherries which are tart and they shake them off the tree. It was crazy!
I will be making my 4th of July desserts from the fruit I picked (video to come on my social media sites)
I am going to take my kids to one of the tour dates. I know they will love it.

We're opening the orchards again JULY 8-11 and are inviting YOU to join us in Idaho's Cherry Harvest. Cherry Hill Farms will show you first-hand how your local Montmorency cherries are harvested. Participants will enjoy a scenic wagon ride tour of the cherry harvest process.
Tours will begin every 15 minutes and reservations are not required. Bring your family, a date, or a group of friends and enjoy the unique experience of Cherry Hill Farm's 2020 Harvest Tour.
