Discovery Park, located in south Meridian at 2121 E. Lake Hazel Road, between Eagle and Locust Grove Roads, is Meridian's newest regional park. At approximately 64 acres in size, this park boasts several of Meridian's most unique and exciting amenities.
The park’s features include a playground and splash pad; a sand and water play area; dual zip lines, roller slides, and a small climbing wall. Its Active Area featuring six pickleball courts and two tennis courts dual-striped for pickleball; bocce ball courts; a 40-yard dash challenge; and basketball courts. The park’s Teen Area has a skatepark, a sand volleyball court, hammock poles, and a shelter with WiFi. The park's attractions also include a bike park and pump track; three additional softball fields (two of which can be illuminated for nighttime play); public art pieces and artisan-made benches; picnic shelters; a restroom/concession building; paved walking paths; and room for a future community garden.

Lake Lowell Park is bordered by the Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge. To plan your visit to the Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge, and to check the rules and regulations, visit their website. Built by the Bureau of Reclamation to provide irrigation water for Canyon County agriculture, Lake Lowell opened in 1909 and is one of the largest off-stream reservoirs in the American west, with the capacity to irrigate over 200,000 acres of land. It has also become a popular recreation destination for the county’s citizens and visitors. Boating, swimming and fishing are among the many activities that folks enjoy at this beautiful oasis in southwest Idaho. Bird watching, hiking and hunting are other recreation options due to the presence of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife’s Deer Flat National Refuge, also established in 1909. As part of the wildlife refuge, recreation on Lake Lowell’s shoreline and waters may be subject to seasonal restrictions. Motorized and Non-motorized boating are allowed April 15 to September 30. Human-powered boats are allowed 200 yards in front of the Upper and Lower Dams between October 1 and April 14. The rest of the lake is set aside for migrating and wintering wildlife.

The Park is in west Nampa on Midway Road and Smith Avenue. In 2015 the Midway Park Master Plan was approved by Nampa City Council and the Parks Department was given direction to start building the park. Construction of the first phase started in 2016.
Currently, the park offers four baseball/softball fields, six pickleball courts, soccer fields, futsal court, basketball court, outdoor fitness gym, a large picnic shelter, 1/2 mile fitness trail, green space and restrooms. Children enjoy the large playground that has swings, slides, climbers and spinners. Future phases of the park will be built as funding is available.

Because it’s situated at ground level, children and dogs love to play in it, and you’ll even catch adults biking through on a hot day. The enhanced fountain has a dozen programmed routines, including a mist feature, as well as integrated lighting effects for evening shows and night time ambiance. The fountain is in operation 8:00am-11:00pm, 7 days a week, May – October (weather permitting).
