During our recent Macaroni Kid Back to School party we enjoyed playing with Simply Fun’s Dinosaur Challenge game. This cool dinosaur game attracted the attention of kids of all ages and families. Yup! Dinosaurs! Who doesn’t love dinosaur’s right?
So, let me share with you a little about this fun little game!
The Dinosaur Challenge game is suggested for players 10-up and requires 2-4 players to play. The Dinosaur Challenge Game is very fun and educational and fairly easy to learn how to play. It’s a great game that teaches about dinosaurs and their habitats, dinosaur facts, situational analysis and math.
To start the game someone will read the situation or challenge off the game disk. Everyone will then carefully choose the best dinosaur off their cards that they think can live through the dangerous events and natural disasters and win the most challenges. The player then presents the dinosaur they think can beat the challenge. I.e. Toughness, Size, Speed, Flexibility, Meat Eater, Plant Eater, Flying etc.
The Challenge Disk is then flipped over, revealing the traits that are required to overcome it. The player that had chosen the dinosaur with the highest score in that trait wins the challenge and receives the points for that round.
The winner of each challenge round keeps the challenge disks they won. At the end of the game, add up the score of all the challenge disks and the player with the most points is the Ultimate Dinosaur Challenge winner!
Although the game suggests ages 10-up, kids at our party as young as 5 understood a majority of the game and thought it was really fun to play. The kids (even the older ones) were excited to learn about the different dinosaurs and see the colorful pictures of all the dinosaurs on the playing cards!
We loved that the game is easy to setup and start simply by removing the cards from the box. There is no game board, no complicated little pieces and very easy to understand the instructions on how to play the game. Once we got the hang of the game, it went pretty quick and took us approximately 20-30 minutes to play.
With the easy setup and fairly quick game time, The Dinosaur Challenge game is perfect for busy families that still enjoy playing games together like my family. We love that Simply Fun games are educational, yet fun, and can be played in a short time without hours and hours of game time.
